Anca, Lacra and Crake: quest checkpoints and romance choices
Find each relationship route, follow Lacra’s flower scene, return to the inn with Anca, and avoid copying a playthrough’s rejection of Crake.
This guide discusses story outcomes. Outcome details are folded where possible; open them when you are ready.
Start the right quest chain, then respond deliberately during its private conversations. A recorded choice is not necessarily the choice you want. The supplied Crake playthrough explicitly rejects him; copying its subtitles would produce the opposite of a romance walkthrough.
This guide contains relationship spoilers. It names the finale quests so you can finish the private scenes before deciding to depart.
Find the relationship you want

The relationships are not mutually exclusive, as PC Gamer's checks confirm. Each scene still has its own acceptance or refusal, so that is not a reason to click through without reading.
Lacra: check your current quest
Check the chain A Friend Like This → The Song of the Mountain → Hive and Seek → Our Rotten Roots → The Night of Horrors. If she has not appeared, check whether you read Ambrus's letter. On the introduction route, check your progress with Vicho's A Study in Crimson.
Our Rotten Roots includes choices about memories and inviting Isbrand. One recording cannot establish that every alternative permanently blocks a relationship. Preserve a save before that sequence if you want to compare the story variations.
The useful action sequence is in the supplied Lacra video, P1 from 14:31:
- Finish the exploration and continue investigating the Mandrake flower with her.
- Eat the flower. Finding it is not the end of the scene.
- Follow her into the next conversation. The invitation to drink begins around 17:31; accept the intimacy and subsequent kiss to continue the relationship.
- Finish that private scene before treating Midnight Reckoning as your next routine hand-in.
Use the game's actual menu text. The supplied machine transcript distorts several plant and character names, so it is more reliable for locating the sequence than quoting its buttons.
Anca: return to the inn
Page-Turner offers an early opportunity to spend time together. First make sure the correct medicine reaches your mother. Continue Anca's open-world investigations toward the ruins in Stronger Than Achilles.
The supplied P18 recording at 46:01 shows power remaining for only one person. This player lets Anca use it. At 49:23 she asks to return to the inn; the relationship conversation follows the return, rather than completing automatically at the Font.
The recorded successful path expresses love in the ruins, resumes the unfinished conversation at the inn, affirms that the confession was serious, and accepts the relationship. Compare P18 at 51:31–53:20.
That is a demonstrated route, not proof that every other Font choice blocks romance. Keep a separate save before allocating its power if you want to compare the character outcome with the equipment reward.
Crake: do not copy the recorded rejection
Continue the Manumit investigations. After rescuing him in What Moves the Dead, escort him back and help with his injuries. Follow Distant Shadows, involving Askar in Tantari, into the personal conversation in A Closer Look.
The supplied P32 covers the investigation; P33 at 02:23 responds to his worries. Around 03:25, this player rejects the relationship. If you want romance, respond to the invitation to kiss instead. PC Gamer's tested route corroborates that response.
If you only see a departure objective, check whether the private quest was completed or refused. Repeating unrelated Court activities is not a demonstrated way to repair a rejected relationship.
Check health before starting the conversation
- Check vampire health before night-time conversations.
- Preserve a save before accepting an ending warning.
- Finish The Night of Horrors or A Closer Look before following departure objectives if you want their private scenes.
- Match the current quest and objective, rather than the number of hours in somebody else's playthrough.
