Pieter’s Past: What Was Buried
Trace Pieter’s history, family life and the conflict raised by Volk in Buried Past.
Buried Past follows a familiar parent into an unfamiliar life. An old acquaintance, a childhood journey and a succession of small acts of care gradually change what Coen can understand about Pieter.
The quest's opening journal entry gives Coen an uncomfortable realization: living with his father has not meant knowing his history. A merchant recognizes him as Pieter's son and remembers regular purchases of beer taken into the woods. The clue concerns a routine that existed alongside family life, rather than an adventure invented for Coen's arrival.
